Botanical name: Milicia excelsa Benth. & Hook. f.
Trademarks: Cambala (Eng.); African Mulberry; Iroko (Fr. E Ing.); Kambala; Tule.
Durability: durable wood. It is not susceptible to attack by fungi and borers.
Technological properties:
• Workability: easy to work, either by mechanical means or with manual tool.
• Drying: relatively easy to drive a result of their very slight shrinkage.
• Finish: get well varnish and polish. It allows good finishes.
• Bonding: glue satisfactorily.
Main applications:
• Flooring
• Lining and paneling
• Interior woodwork: door and windows; stairs; furnishing and interior decorations.
• Furniture
• Other: Due to its high durability, is also indicated for works exposed to weather such as outer vestments.
