Trademarks: Live Oak (Eng.); American red oak (Ing.); Chêne rouge (Fr.); Red Oak; Northen red oak.
Durability: Moderately durable. Sensitivity to insect attack - small weevils.
Technological properties:
• Workability: easy sawing despite the hardness. Easy in any case and any machines.
• Drying: slow and difficult; tendency to fissions and deformations.
• Finish: easy and perfect preparatory operations; well-polished surfaces, good reception waxes, paints and varnishes.
• Bonding: glue satisfactorily.
